Why do we track our clients during their training sessions?

During all training sessions Westfit collects data about their client’s performance. This information is used to build a personalized algorithm of exercises that is client specific. I devised a QUALITY STANDARDS TEST that evaluates my client’s performance which also allows Westfit to self assess.

This training assessment also allows us to monitor if the client is really putting in the effort during training. Clients are expected to apply their maximum amount of effort during a set. This allows Westfit to create an effective training program related to each exercise with the maximum intensity built in for success.

We performed a few tests on our clients to ensure they were continually maintaining the highest effort levels. I instructed my clients to perform a specific number of reps, and they did. Westfit found that the clients would only perform the number of reps instructed, instead of performing the maximum reps that they could actually perform. I then instructed them to do as many reps as they possible could without giving them a specific amount and they did with less effort. We currently measure effort levels one client at a time with varying weight load in order to sustain effort levels. We realize that the client knew if I asked how difficult the set was and they
said it wasn’t difficult, I would increase the load. The client would be less straight forward with their response.

Tracking clients progress and having a training format to follow specifically for each client, allows for swifter adaptations. There is no way for a Personal Trainer to mentally track where each client is, what they did last and how much tweaking their routine needs during a session. It takes a long time to change your body in the right conditions. The right conditions include creating a plan that maps your body, track the exercises you are doing. This shows your progression and allows for the right amount of rest between training sessions.

We are always excited to train new clients, every client that has trained with me, regardless of their experience, has experienced exercise for the first time. There is more skill required accompanied with ability and scientific observation to make exercise effective.
